Because golfers can talk about clubs almost as much as they can talk about golf.
For me, my bag is still very much a work in progress.
I went from a beginner set to getting completely pumped up about a TaylorMade driver, irons, and putter.
These days I'm carrying clubs that fit my game a lot better than what I started with.
While better clubs didn't magically turn me into Rory McIlroy, they definitely made a difference. They were more forgiving and gave me a confidence boost every time I stood over the ball.
And every time I think my bag is finally set...
I see a new club, a new review, or hear somebody talk about a club they love and suddenly I'm "just doing research."
The funny thing is I've learned that confidence in the club matters almost as much as the club itself.
If I stand over a shot feeling good about what's in my hands, things usually go a lot better.
Now whether that's the club or me convincing myself it's the club...
The jury is still out on that one.
