Where golfers get better – together
What’s your range routine?
Every golfer has a range routine.
Or at least a routine they tell themselves they have.
Some golfers warm up methodically.
Some hit a small bucket with purpose.
Some immediately grab the driver and start swinging like they're trying to qualify for the PGA Tour.
So let's hear it.
What's your range routine?
Do you:
start with wedges?
work through the bag?
focus on one thing?
practice like you play?
hit whatever club is currently frustrating you?
No right answers.
Just curious what actually works for you.
Drop your routine below.
Let's hear it.
Because range sessions and actual golf rounds seem to have a complicated relationship.
For me, I try to start with a purpose.
That doesn't always happen, but that's the goal.
Usually I'll start with shorter clubs and work my way through the bag.
The biggest thing I've learned is that hitting 100 balls as fast as possible doesn't really help me.
I'd rather hit fewer shots with a purpose than spend an hour trying to fix everything.
Lately, I've been focusing on tempo.
Slow down.
Pause.
Finish the swing.
Simple in theory.
Much harder when the ball is sitting there waiting for me to prove otherwise.
Golf has a funny way of turning a practice session into a swing rebuild if you let it.
Still working on that.
