Where golfers get better – together
Do you practice putting enough?
Let's start with an uncomfortable question.
Do you practice putting enough?
Not:
"Do you think putting is important?"
Most golfers agree it is.
The real question is:
Do you actually spend enough time practicing it?
Because somehow it's a lot easier to:
- buy a new driver
- watch swing videos
- hit a bucket of balls
- research equipment
Than it is to spend 20 minutes rolling putts.
And yet...
A lot of rounds are won or lost on the greens.
So let's hear it.
Do you practice putting enough?
Or is it one of those things you know you should do more often?
Drop your answer below.
Let's hear it.
Golf has a funny way of making the boring things matter the most.
For me?
Absolutely not.
I know putting is important.
I've heard:
"Drive for show, putt for dough."
I've watched the videos.
I've seen how many shots happen on the green.
And yet somehow...
When I have an hour to practice, my brain immediately wants to hit full shots.
Driver.
Irons.
Anything that makes me feel like I'm improving faster.
Meanwhile, putting sits there quietly waiting to remind me that scoring happens on the greens.
The funny thing is that every time I actually spend time practicing putting, I walk away realizing how important speed control and consistency really are.
Then a week goes by and I'm back trying to gain five extra yards with my driver.
Golf does a great job of teaching the same lesson repeatedly.
Still learning that one.
