A few years ago, launch monitors felt like something only tour pros and instructors had.

Now it feels like everyone has one.

Or wants one.

Or is trying to convince themselves they need one.

So let's hear it.

Are launch monitors worth it?

Did one actually help your game?

Or did it just give you more information to obsess over during practice?

Could be:
Garmin
Rapsodo
SkyTrak
FlightScope
TrackMan
Full Swing
or anything else you've used

What worked?

What didn't?

Drop your thoughts below.

Let's hear it.
Because golf already gives us plenty to think about before adding another screen full of numbers.

For me, absolutely!

One of the best golf purchases I've made was the Voice Caddie portable launch monitor.

At first, I wasn't sure if it would actually help or if it would just give me more numbers to stare at.

Turns out it was a game changer.

I set up a 15x35 foot net in my backyard between two trees and started hitting balls into it.

The launch monitor gave me:
* carry distance
* ball speed
* club selection feedback
* and real shot data instead of me guessing how far I was actually hitting the ball.

But the biggest benefit wasn't the numbers.

It was pairing the launch monitor app with my phone on a tripod and recording my swing.

Now I could actually see my swing and the launch data at the same time.

That was huge.

A lot of times what I thought I was doing and what I was actually doing weren't even close.

Seeing the swing video with the shot data overlaid on it helped everything start making more sense.

For me, that was the difference between guessing and actually understanding what was happening.

Definitely one of the few golf purchases that lived up to the hype.
