I Rolled My Eyes… Then I Bought the Castle Tee

The Smallest Change That Helped My Driver

Settle in. Let’s talk golf.

When I first started playing, I talked at length with Alan at Golf Galaxy (absolute legend).
I went back three times. Bought things. Asked questions. Learned a ton.
One day he handed me some tees.
“Use these,” he said.
They worked fine.
But my driver?
Still inconsistent.
Some high.
Some low.
Some sliced.
Some crushed.
Mostly confusing.

The YouTube Moment
Then one day I was watching Rick Shiels.
He’s mid-video, talking about driver consistency.
Then he leans into the camera and says something like:
“This is a game changer.”
Okay, Rick. I’m listening.
And what was it?
Castle tees.
That’s it.
A tee.
Not a swing overhaul.
Not a $600 shaft.
Not a new driver head.
A tee.
I rolled my eyes.
Then I bought a pack on Amazon anyway.
Because… golf addiction.

Why It Actually Matters
Here’s the problem with regular tees.
When you stick them in the ground:
  •  Sometimes the ball is too low.
  •  Sometimes it’s too high.
  •  Sometimes you think it’s right… but it’s not.

That means your driver head and ball alignment is inconsistent.
And with a driver, that matters a lot.

The top half of the ball should sit slightly above the top line of the driver.
That promotes:
  •  Upward angle of attack
  •  Better launch
  •  Cleaner contact

But if your tee height changes every time?
So does your swing result.

Enter the Castle Tee
The castle tee is designed with ridges.
You push it into the ground to the same depth every time.
Same height.
Same setup.
Same alignment.
Every. Single. Drive.
That consistency alone changed everything.

The Results
More consistent launch.
More distance.
Better direction.
Fewer “what just happened?” moments.
And yes…
Fewer headaches.
(Not zero. Let’s be realistic.)

Small Change. Big Impact.
This is one of those subtle adjustments that makes you realize:
You don’t always need a swing change.
Sometimes you need better consistency in your setup.
Small changes. Better golf.

Am I Selling Something?
Kind of.
But only because it worked.
It’s inexpensive.
It’s simple.
And if your driver feels unpredictable?
This is a low-risk experiment.
Here’s the link if you want to try them.
If they help you like they helped me, you’ll never go back.

The Next Shot
Your next shot doesn’t have to be perfect – just intentional.
Set it up consistently. Then swing.
